Will Payne

Dr Will Payne is an Assistant Professor in the Urban Planning and Policy Development program, where he teaches and researches GIScience and Urban Informatics. His doctorate is from University of California at Berkeley. He uses quantitative and qualitative methods to study the relationship between geospatial technologies and urban inequality. His work has focused on how the location-based services (LBS) industry interact with processes of racialized and class-based segregation in American cities. Dr Payne’s work also develops open-source tools for spatial data visualization and computational research.
